Here are some photos from Natalie and Sean’s wedding in Ottawa! The ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Church in Fallowfield (which is one of the first churches I ever shot at in the Ottawa area about 6 years ago) and the reception was at the Museum of Civilization! Here are some of my favourite images from the day:
This guy might just be the greatest DJ ever. He mixed Save A Horse with Walk This Way. Brilliant. And he also does a mean pop n’ lock.
This photo cracks me up. They were all hanging out chatting so I walked up and said, “Do you guys want a photo together?” They said, “Sure!” and just as I was about to take the shot, Sean’s brother smashed them both in the groin. Brilliant.
Luckily no groins were smashed in the making of this photo. A tie may have been sacrificed, though.

Natalia and Jose were guests at a wedding I shot a few years ago and remembered my photos! So when their 4th anniversary came around, Natalia wanted to surprise Jose with a photo shoot downtown in Toronto! Here are some of my favourites, in reverse-chronological order for a change.
We ended the shoot at one of my favourite spots, Polson Pier. You get a great view of downtown, it’s really quiet and peaceful, and the Sound Academy is there and they host pretty awesome concerts. I saw Cake and Brandon Flowers there!
Jose is an amazing architect and interior designer so I wanted to try and take advantage of some shadows and geometry, even though math is my nemesis.

Here are some photos from Becca and Scott’s wedding at the always awesome Renaissance! But the day started for Becca and her mom at Serenity Spa.
At 8:45 in the morning. Zzzz….
I think this might be one of my favourites from the day.
Instead of flowers, the bridesmaids had awesome yellow purses! I think they’re called clutches? My purse vernacular isn’t quite up to speed. But they looked great!

Michelle and Louis are getting married tomorrow! Here are some photos from a while back that I didn’t get around to posting until now! We did an engagement shoot/family photo shoot starting around Major’s Hill Park in Ottawa and ending up around the Byward Market. Check out their crazy cute baby!

I’ve taken the Glenora Ferry a million times but I’ve never actually been up to the top of the “mountain” near the ferry. There’s actually a restaurant and a cool view of everything and the craziest part is that there’s also…….a lake. There is a lake on the mountain in Picton. And there’s also a cool inn and restaurant as well! Heather and Scott recommended that we meet there to start our engagement shoot, so that’s what we did (and it was an awesome choice).
Here’s the view from the top of the mountain, overlooking the Glenora Ferry.
And here’s an old car parked outside the restaurant.
And here are Heather and Scott!
This is probably my most favourite graffiti ever in the history of graffiti during an engagement shoot. Found on a wall in an alley in downtown Picton! BEHOLD THE ATOM!

Here are some photos from Diana & David’s wedding in Kingston! The ceremony was at beautiful St. Mary’s Cathedral downtown and the reception took place at the Ambassador Conference Resort (although I always refer to it as the Ambassador Hotel). We started at the bride’s parents’ house for prep.
Favourite quote of the day: just before her dad left the house he said, “I’ll grab the tail!”
I got to ride in the limo! Boo yah.
These two kids had the craziest dance routines! It was like all choreographed and stuff. Alas, I only have the running man and the occasional unimpressive robot.

Check out this awesome picture of Henry Cavill as Superman! I’m very psyched for this. My wife got me the Superman box set on blu-ray for Father’s Day and I’ve been watching a lot of Superman while recovering from some minor surgery in the last few weeks so my brain is in full on Superman mode. I don’t know much about Henry Cavill (but my wife says he was awesome on The Tudors) but this photo gives me hope that Superman might actually punch some things and use his super powers. The film, directed by Zack Snyder (The Watchmen, 300) will also star Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Lawrence Fishburne as Daily Planet boss Perry White, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Superman’s Earth parents while Russell Crowe plays Jor-El. Weeeeird.
Here are some photos of Natalie and Sean’s engagement shoot at the Arboretum in Ottawa! We almost canceled the shoot because weather was super crazy that day (weird thunderstorms, crazy dark clouds) but we gambled and ended up winning in the end because the weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, and everything was bright and sunny. We went to the Arboretum, which is an awesome green space full of unique trees, bridges, ponds, and grassy fields! Then we checked out the Experimental Farm across the street, which has a cool red barn and some other neat buildings. And then we ended the shoot by going to a crazy graffiti spot under a bridge near a baseball diamond. Beyond looking pretty cool, the parking lot smelled like grape Kool-Aid for some reason, which was weird and awesome at the same time. Here are the photos!

Here are some photos from Stephanie and Charlie’s engagement shoot in Tamworth, which is about 20 minutes north of Napanee I think. Charlie drove and there were lots of fields and cows. Our first stop was actually a preview of some of their wedding photo locations, which was interesting to see because I don’t go to Napanee very often! There’s an awesome park with a little waterfall and a really cool old furniture store. I’m looking forward to the wedding, but here’s a preview of some of their engagement photos.
Stephanie and Charlie do a lot of outdoorsy stuff (she’s a farm girl!) and they had some cool old bikes to work into the shoot.
We also had access to a cool old barn! Thanks for braving the hay and straw and cow patties, guys!
Here they are…..with cows! The cows seemed mostly disinterested, but I was worried they were going to stampede or something. I’ve heard they do that from time to time, or maybe that’s just in movies?
These guys don’t look ready to stampede.
Thanks again for the photo shoot! I’m looking forward to the wedding in October!

Here are images from Nicole & David’s wedding at The Waring House in Picton, ON, in picturesque Prince Edward County. I love shooting there because everything looks like a post card!
This is Kelly Taylor from Kelly Taylor Photography! Hi Kelly!
Nicole’s grandmother was awesome.
This sequence of David and his dad always makes me smile.
I forgot to catch this guy’s name, but he’s a friend of the bride and groom I think, and I heard rumblings that he has a CD coming out soon. He was awesome.
This sequence also makes me laugh. It was pretty windy, and even though they were up in the pavillion after signing the documents, Nicole’s veil pelted David in the face about 600 times in the span of 3 seconds.
I originally had almost 200 photos selected for this blog post but managed to pare it down to about 89 I think. Here’s a link to the full slideshow (all of the images shown in the reception slideshow plus more from later in the night) if you want to check out more! Thanks again, Nicole & David!
